Village Idiot of the Day, September 10, 2009: Frank Manello

It's way too much work to slog through the Pretty Little Hate Machine today, so it's the perfect time to revisit Frank Manello. You remember, Frank, the guy who never met a poor person who wasn't lazy, immoral, fat--and worthy.

Frank posted the most astounding comment yesterday. In case you missed it:

Frank Manello
Citizens at Tea Party Sound Off on the Issue
We would be a better country if only taxpayers and property owners were allowed to vote.

This leaves so many questions. Semantically, by using "and" instead of "or" does he mean voters must be taxpayers AND property owners or does he mean be tax payers OR property owners?

Whatever...Frank drains the voter pool in the belief that the deteris will be responsible Chamber of Commerce white middle class, home-owning, responsible conservative Republicans, not a bunch of renting, irresponsible, union truckers, secretaries, and store clerking Democrats. He should be careful for what he asks!

You can probably think of more but here's a start. Would the following be disenfranchised under FrankRule:

  • stay-at-home moms (or dads) with no income of their own
  • spouses whose names do not appear on deeds (IHC's SAH mother owned the house and car; our father "owned" nothing--this is known as a lawsuit dodge).
  • women (or men) who collect alimony
  • persons who sell their homes and move into rental spaces
  • tax dependents
  • persons with limited incomes precluded from paying taxes
  • tax defrauders
  • the disabled
  • women whose husbands have taken a powder and forced to live in reduced circumstances
  • the rich
We always knew that Frank is a social elitist snob, and cheapskate, but now, due to the good offices of the Rep, we know he opposes the democratic process and majority rule. A Tory?

Once more, we name Frank Manello, Village Idiot of the Day, September 10, 2009. (see sidebar on the right, "Cast of Characters" Plot Lines" for more Frankisms.

I was on welfare after losing my job for about a year. Frank got on my nerves on the rep on the time, I am college educated and lost a good paying job because of a son with a disability that was forcing me to take too much time off work....and I was really angry that Frank lumped me in as lazy and a breeder.

I called him on the carpet via a personal email (back when you could do that) and told him this. He actually was pretty apologetic. Not as much of an idiot as he comes across...just frustrated.

I should also mention that if you own property and pay property taxes, that makes you a taxpayer whether you are working or not. I thought that would be obvious. I should have dumbed down my comment for you folks.

So Frank, can a kept woman, vote?

Anonymous said...

Did you mean pretty HATE machine? I think you might have the same non-existent proofers that your bud at the Stark Politics blog has....

Marley Greiner said...

Correction made! Yes, we did mean Hate--as in NIN.

I assume you refer to Martin Olson. I don't know him outside if reading his blog. Hardly buds.

Frank, you need to get out more. A kept woman is a woman kept by a man. She doesn't work. Kinda like a stay-at-home wife with the benefit of not having to deal with the guy on a constant basis.

Men, of course, can be kept, too. As can adult children.

BD if the "kept person" does not pay taxes in the form of income or property, they should not be able to vote as they have no stake in the outcome of an election other than to get something for nothing rather than be taxed.

Actually, I've met Frank. I find him to be very outgoing and totally friendly. Not to mention handsome. Besides that, he likes me because I pay taxes!
Quit blushing, Frank.

So, Frank. You think voting is only bout taxes? Boy, that's a narrow view. Well, more than that. Elitist. That would disenfranchise a lot of stay-at-home moms and retirees. Too bad you weren't around in 1920. You could have kept women barefoot and pregnant.

However, it's a good way to shut down the government, too. Just stop voting and stop supporting the farce.

Marley Greiner said...

No doubt, anonymous. Do you like to pay taxes?

Perhaps our little Frankie is bipolar or just horribly misunderstood. Outgoing, friendly, handsome...isn't that how people described Ted Bundy?

Anonymous said...

BD as for voting being about taxes, yes. Sooner or later everything comes down to money. Name a bill or law that doesn't have a cost associated with it. As for the stay at home mom, if she and her husband file jointly, she is a taxpayer. If they pay property taxes, they are taxpayers.
Anonymous, thank you for the kind words.

Damn, how long is Frank going to be the VID? I think he already holds the title for longevity.

Let's get some new idiots up here. I'm tired of looking at Frank's name, and there sure isn't a shortage of new idiots over there on comments. Man, my private list is getting longer and longer.

Are we sure FM is really Frank? Octopuppet is well known for stealing identities. Something smells fishy to me... it smells like rotten calamari!

Marley Greiner said...

So, if the SAH mom makes no money and her home is in her husband's name, and they don't file jointly, then she really does not enjoy the rights of propertied US citizens. How about impovrished retirees. How about people who dont' make enough money to pay taxes?

Frank, just admit it. You're an elitist white guy.

We agree. IHC has been busy with real life work--and there are so many candidates. We have never seen so much idiocy in Canton since Herb Philbrick came to town to speak.

Anonymous said...

Obviously a lot of non-taxpayers on here. I would say "You're welcome for the free ride", but none of you ever says "Thank you".

I agree that the idiots have come out of the woodwork lately. I can understand IHC being overwhelmed by it. It is a daunting task to sort through so much moronic activity. And to top it off, the Rep has had a lot of BORING stories lately. Maybe the Rep needs to be nominated for VIOD due to their lackluster content!

I just found out that my b/f's fam lives a couple doors down from a certain crazy lady and her bankrupted daughter. As she has been arrested for screaming "retard" at a special needs little boy about his fam's erection of a fence in the yard to keep him safe and then calling his uncle who was defending him a word the British use for cigarettes that we use as a derogatory sexual insult, I doubt she is posting. Or maybe you are permitted to use the Internet at the Stark County Gray Bar Hotel located on Rte 62. I don't know.

FM,
You're welcome.
And you can stop in and ask for directions to Fulton Road anytime.

We had a IHC nearly ready to go up y\esterday when a computer glitch erased it. Went back to reconstruct it, and the offending comemnt in the Rep had been removed, so there was mo point.

Where is the Ry 62 lady story? We have been unable to find it. We are most happy to consider it.

Do they really need to? You spend so much time thanking yourself for paying taxes, no one else can possibly get a word in edgewise. I'd love to have the chapstick concession at your house. You must have blisters on your lips by now, from all the time you spend kissing your own ass.
