Is it our imagination or was the Rep's cupboard nearly bare of octrotrolls yesterday? We hope so.
Rumor has it that GaugerCo is working to rid itself and us of the daily pest. Let's hope its computer wasn't down or it's on vacation.
Real people are so much more fun anyway!

I read comments yesterday, and I could not keep my eyes open. They were soooooooooo boring, and they just put me to sleep.
Some people, who usually have very good, serious or witty, even borderline 'confrontational', seemed to be searching for something worthwhile to give their opinion on. They didn't find it. They were reduced to comment on 'anything' stories that comments were still allowed on. All the good stuff was 'off limits' to commentors. I say a guy, who puts his two-cents in on everything and anything, really showed how desperate he was to comment on something when he joined with the ladies, who sounded like a bunch of teenage girls at a sleep over, talking about someone not coming through with wedding pictures. Talk about boring comments, whew, those were by far, the most boring comments that I've ever seen.
I set myself apart from writing comments, because I didn't feel I was treated fairly, I'm not a "turn the other cheek" person,who can be punished like a 'pre-schooler', but I fully intended to derive some pleasure, from READING the comments. So much for that idea. I guess I hope they'll 'pick it up' one day. I know they can do better. I saw some familiar names, but like I said, they seemed desperate to let the world know they were still alive by putting in a comment, anywhere someone might see it. In the mean time, I'll have to be content to read the 300 e-mails I get daily. Then too, there's always the Constitution of the United States of America. I can brush up on that, and get back into the political discussions with my political friends. I've neglected them the past few years, staying busy defending myself or my children on the Rep's comments. It had gotten so bad on there, that you couldn't offer an opinion on the weather, without getting stoned to death. I wouldn't mind defending my opinion, or even my colorful past, if warranted, that's what made it so much fun. I didn't go on there to defend lies told on me, or whether my son was in hell or not.
Oh well, back to the Pogo games until the Democrats wake up. Damn those folks sleep late. It's 9am and I haven't heard a peep out of them. That's one good thing about the commentors, they never went to bed. You could get stoned to death on there anytime, day or night.
On thing we find alarming and are following is the demise of many threads. We understand that some become highly inflamatory (often due to one person's octotrolling but not always), but the number of dead threads is growing.
Just this morning the noring wedding photo thread was disabled. Maybe it actually died of boredom.
There were some defamatory comments, but why not just remove them?
That to us has always been the issue. We do not ask for nor expect 100% civility That would be dull. But why punish all for the misdeeds of a couple?
We are nonetheless glad to see that some control is coming from the Rep. We just don't want to see the goose killed.
Reading the Rep comments just isn't very interesting these days. Since most of the old faithful commentors have been sanctioned and forced to come up with a new "handle" just to comment, it isn't as much fun.
I miss the old days when I looked forward to reading comments from people whose names I recognized Some mornings I could hardly wait to see what everyone was saying. Lately most of the time I don't even bother.
I really enjoy our group of commentors who these days discuss various subjects by e-mail. The Rep is missing out on a lot of good comments.
My opinion is this: Why bother putting a comment in the Rep just to have it disappear along with the whole thread of comments.
I would much rather just keep our discussions by e-mail going. We are all real people and most of us have met each other. Lots more fun this way. It is our gain, the Reps loss.
